Dr. Emily Young
VP of Programs
The Conrad Prebys Foundation
Dr. Emily Young is one of two VPs of Programs at Prebys Foundation. She joined Prebys in the fall of 2023 and leads the foundation's arts and health grantmaking.
Emily has over two decades of experience in philanthropy and higher education. She previously served as Executive Director of The Nonprofit Institute in the School of Leadership and Education Sciences at the University of San Diego.
Prior to that she was Vice President of Community Impact at The San Diego Foundation, and an Assistant Professor of Geography and Regional Development at the University of Arizona. Her work has spanned a variety of fields, including climate change, conservation, arts and culture, education, and neighborhood revitalization, with a focus on underrepresented communities.
Emily received an MS in geography at the University of Wisconsin and a PhD in geography from the University of Texas
