Julian Parra brings more than 35 years of financial services industry experience to his role as National Head of Commercial and Industrial Banking at Western Alliance Bank.
Mr. Parra holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Loyola University Chicago.
Outside of his professional role, he has served on numerous nonprofit boards focused on inclusive economic development including CleanTECH San Diego, World Trade Center San Diego, the Center for Advancing Global Business at San Diego State University, and the San Diego Regional Economic Development Corporation where he is the immediate past chairman.
Mr. Parra has a strong belief in diversity and inclusion as an economic imperative and is focused on driving social mobility, talent and workforce development and growing minority owned businesses. He has founded and led employee resource groups throughout his career including local chapters of the Hispanic‐Latino Organization for Leadership and Advancement, Black Professionals Group, and Lead for Women. He actively mentors dozens of diverse colleagues.
Mr. Parra recently joined the boards of Junior Achievement San Diego County, the County of San Diego Black Chamber of Commerce, and the California State University San Marcos Foundation Board.
