Lisa's Story Lisa was an 18-year-old single mother with a 3-year-old when she came to Lifeline’sdrop-in center “The House.” At that time, Lisa and her child were living out of her car.During her first meeting, LifeSpring staff discovered that she was previously in the fostercare system, meaning she could quality for Lifeline’s supportive housing program! Threedays later, with an approved referral from the County, Lisa began the enrollmentprocess. While a unit was being readied for move-in, Lifeline arranged for Lisa and herchild to stay in temporary housing. Shortly thereafter Lisa was able to move into one of Lifeline’s 1-bedroom apartments. Lifeline’s help did not stop there. As a part of the independent living skills Lifelineteaches, Lisa was provided with a budget to select atoddler bed and dresser for her child and her first set of furniture including a bed, sofa, table, and chairs. Lifeline furtherassisted Lisa in purchasing other household necessities such as plates, glasses, silverware, pots, pans, microwave, bedding, and cleaning supplies. Today, Lisa is more hopeful than ever. She has a place to call home, she attends weeklytherapy, has a case manager who supports her, and has established a housing plandetailing steps to work, care for her child, saving money, and finding housing once shehas completed our program. Since starting LifeSpring, Lisa has found a full time job andenrolled her child in preschool.

Lifeline'sTrue Life Recovery (TLR) Program provides a safe, healing, and supportive environment for youth struggling with substance use disorders. TLR helps youth build coping skills through individual, group, music, art, and various other forms of therapy. TLR assists each young person in establishing a support network of individuals at Lifeline and in the North Coastal Community. TLR serves youth aged 12-17 in need of outpatient drug and alcohol treatment programs and any adolescent enrolled in a school located in the North Coastal Region needing medical intervention for outpatient services. The TLR program is proud to offer local school districts the opportunity to become a satellite school. Please see the below information for how to become an added school. For further questions, please call: 760-842-6248. Follow the Below Steps to Become a Satellite School: 1. The school district submits a written request to the county monitor to add services at a school site. • The request must include data detailing the percentage of the school eligible for Medi-Cal or free and reduced lunch. It is common, but not required, that the district connects with a provider they would like to work with about their capacity to add a school and includes this information in their request. 2. The County reviews the request and makes a determination based on: • Total school enrollment • Medi-Cal and free/reduced lunch population • Student, parent, and community demographics and needs, such as primary language • Number of students likely to meet SchooLink eligibility criteria • Availability of confidential therapy space • Program funding and provider/system capacity to add another school 3. If the County approves the request, they will assign a provider organization. School districts have the authority to dismiss a provider from a school at any time; however, a replacement provider is not guaranteed. 4. The school district and the provider organization execute a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) authorizing the provider organization to provide services on their school campus(es). 5. The school district, school staff, and provider hold an initial Annual SchooLink Meeting to discuss process and plan the initiation of services. 6. The school district and the provider establish a memorandum of understanding.

Exposure Skate's Skate Rising Event: Empowering Youth, Impacting Lives At Exposure Skate's recent "Skate Rising" event, the energy of youth empowerment was palpable. Enthusiastic young individuals crafted over 700 hygiene items, demonstrating their commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of their peers. These items, ranging from essential toothbrushes to personal care products, are now ready to bring comfort and care to Lifeline youth experiencing homelessness. Exposure Skate's dedication to service and the mission of empowering women, trans, and non-binary individuals shines brightly in this collaborative effort. Marsh McLennan Agency's Heartfelt Assembly for Lifeline Clients Meanwhile, employees at Marsh McLennan Agency came together with warmth and care to assemble vital kits for Lifeline clients in need. From essential toiletries to comforting blankets, socks, hats, and first aid kits, these thoughtful packages are designed to make a difference in the lives of youth and families facing homelessness. As we bid farewell to 2023, Lifeline Community Services is filled with gratitude and warmth as we reflect on the remarkable success of our Annual Adopt-A-Family Program. This year's program has been a beacon of joy, bringing together our community to make the holiday season brighter for those in need. A Community United: In the true spirit of giving, 231 Lifeline families were adopted by the generosity of 166 local corporations, organizations, and families. The outpouring of support showcases the strength of our community and its commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of others. Creating Magical Moments: A heartfelt thank you goes to MarshMcLennan Agency for transforming our Adopt-A-Family Donor Drop-Off Party into a magical wonderland. Their dedication to setting up holiday decorations created an enchanting environment that added an extra layer of joy to the gift drop-off experience. Volunteer Power: We also extend our gratitude to the Rotary Club of Carlsbad for their invaluable support. Their willingness to volunteer their Saturday to assist donors during the gift drop-off played a crucial role in the seamless execution of the program.
